Our initial list is by no means exhaustive and we will be grateful to you, if you can share with us the names of any expert who has been pivotal in improving your condition.
Dr Sue Shepard
She has won many professional awards, including Dietitian Association of Australia’s Award for Achievement for Excellence in Contribution to the Profession. Sue has developed a dietary management approach which has revolutionised the management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (low FODMAP diet) – her pioneering research has contributed world-first information, and for which she was awarded the Gastroenterological Society of Australia’s Young Investigator of the Year Award in 2006. Sue was the first non-medical health professional to win this Award, which has had past Awardees including Dr Barry Marshall (Helicobactor Pylori eradication). Sue has also been listed in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 “Who’s Who in the World” publication for her contribution to society for her dietary therapy. Recently, Sue was awarded State finalist for Telstra Businesswoman of the Year 2009.
Dr Barbara Bradley Bolen
Dr. Barbara Bolen is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with offices in Farmingdale and Northport, New York, who has over 25 years of experience in helping people to feel better.
Dr. Bolen received her doctorate from Hofstra University and has worked in hospital, school and private practice settings. She currently maintains a private practice, providing individual psychotherapy to adults who are dealing with a wide variety of psychological issues and symptoms. In her practice, she utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) treatment approach.
In addition to her psychological services, Dr. Bolen has been writing about digestive health for the past ten years, with a particular emphasis on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Dr. Bolen has written two books on the subject and currently serves as the IBS Guide for the website
Professor John Hunter
I have particular expertise in the management of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and irritable bowel syndrome. I am the author of two books for patients with these conditions – Solve your Food Intolerance, (5th edition 2005) and Irritable Bowel Solutions (2007) both published by Vermilion (Ebury Press) London.
I have published over 200 scientific articles and currently lead an active research team running studies of the gut microflora at Addenbrooke’s hospital together with Cranfield, Liverpool and Birmingham universities and the Open University.
Dr Phil Harry
Dr. Phil Harry is a retired General Practitioner. He has spent a long time treating all types of medical conditions. He also practised hypnotherapy and acupuncture.
Now that he has retired, he feels he can reach a wide audience and help more people. He is writing books on a large variety of medical conditions.
IBS is an important subject for him because he had IBS a long time ago and after extensive research, he has found the fundamental reasons why his Irritable Bowel Syndrome went away and never returned. Carolyn Dean MD ND
